You’re in Corpus Christi and you’re hungry. You had a long day of fun, and now it’s time to have dinner and relax. Which of the many Corpus Christi restaurants will provide you with a good meal to satisfy your appetite?

Corpus Christi is a fairly big city, so there are many places to eat. It is nice, however, if you can find good restaurants fairly near to where you are likely to stay when on vacation in Corpus.

Here are a few of our favorite… 

Corpus Christi Restaurants

Ol’ Steakhouse Co. (formerly Longhorn Steak & Ale)

My favorite among Corpus Christi restaurants is probably the Ol’ Steakhouse Co. (formerly Longhorn Steak & Ale).

These guys sure know how to cook a steak. Try the ribeye! The calamari is wonderful too.

The atmosphere at the Ol’ Steakhouse Co is casual, their service is great, and so are their prices. All round excellent value!

Andy’s Kitchen

Andy’s Kitchen is a simple, family-owned restaurant with good food. It is a “southern home style” restaurant.

Andy’s Kitchen is open for breakfast and lunch. You can have amazing country breakfast there for under $10. If you feel like a Mexican breakfast, they have that too.

For lunch they have old southern favorites, like country fried steak and country fried chicken. They also have a nice range of seafood and Mexican dishes.

The kids enjoyed the locomotives circling on two suspended tracks! I enjoyed the friendly service, good food, and reasonable prices.

Bellino’s

In the mood for some Italiano? Give Bellino’s a shot!

Bellino’s serves authentic Italian food. While they don’t serve pizza, you will find an excellent range of salads, sandwiches, pasta, dessert, coffees, and more. They also have a great kids’ menu.

Bellino’s is closed on Sunday and Monday, open for lunch and dinner on all other days, with happy hour from 3 pm – 6 pm.

There is also a Bellino’s in Rockport, not too far from either Corpus Christi or Port Aransas.

Hester’s Cafe & Coffee Shop

Hester’s Cafe & Coffee Shop have two locations, one on Alameda street, and the other at the Art Museum.

Hester’s is open for lunch and breakfast, although the Art Museum location only opens at 10 a.m.

If you like good coffee, Hester’s is the place to go. If you go for breakfast, try one of their omelettes. They are great. Their panninis are very good too. For lunch they have a variety of tasty sandwiches and panninis, as well as salads.

Did I mention coffees? And then there are the coffees…

Executive Surf Club

Last, but not least, is the Executive Surf Club. They have good food, cold beer, and live music!

Some of the Executive Surf Club’s favorites include chicken fried steak, various wraps, and fish & chips. They also serve various delicious burgers and sandwiches.

If you’re a beer lover, you’ll find various domestic beers, imported beers, and beer on tap. One of my favorites on tap is Landshark.

There are usually also live bands that play that the Executive Surf Club on the weekends. If you want a fun evening out, this is a great place to go.

These restaurants ought to provide a scrumptious meal to satisfy a wide variety of people, including you and you family. If, however, you want to look at a few more choices, here is a list of good restaurants in Corpus Christi.

South Padre Island is one of the most popular vacation destinations in Texas. People go there to have a good time. People get hungry. So you can bet that there will be many South Padre Island restaurants to fill the hungry tummies!

The trick is to find the good ones. We’ve tried a few South Padre Island restaurants while vacationing there and usually had a good time.

Here are a few of our favorite… 

South Padre Island Restaurants

Garden Grille & Bar

The Garden Grille & Bar is inside the Hylton Garden Inn hotel. It is one of the highest rated restaurants in South Padre!

They serve a variety of very reasonably priced food, including steaks, chicken, pasta, seafood, burgers, and more. They also have a kids’ menu that will keep any kid happy!

If you’re a beer-lover, the Garden Grille & Bar has a great variety of bottled beer and beer on tap.

If you’re already staying the Hylton Garden Inn, a visit to the Garden Grille & Bar is a no-brainer, but even if you don’t stay in the hotel, do visit the restaurant.

Louie’s Backyard

Louie’s Backyard is on the Bay side of the island. It has been around for a long time and has been source of great entertainment for a lot of people over the years.

Louie’s serves excellent steaks, chicken, pasta, and seafood. They also have a nice kids’ menu with the usual things that kids like. If you want to make it a night of seafood, Louie’s has a great seafood buffet!

Another great feature of Louie’s Backyard is the regular entertainment. They have fireworks shows in the summer, live music, and also karaoke nights.

All in all, Louie’s a great place to spend an evening!

Padre Island Brewing Company

Another beer-lovers’ dream is the Padre Island Brewing Company. The name says it all.

It is a mico-brewery that also serves a nice variety of food.

The food includes a good variety to fill any hungry tummy… all at great prices. They have chicken, steaks, pork, pizza, burgers, salads, and more.

One the beer front, they have several sizes of their own freshly brewed beer on tap.

Don’t miss the Padre Island Brewing Company… especially if you appreciate a good beer!

Sea Ranch

The Sea Ranch is just about an institution in South Padre. It has been around for that long!

They serve a variety of seafood caught fresh right there in the Gulf of Mexico. The Red Snapper is the house specialty. They also serve some excellent pastas.

Don’t miss out on the Sea Ranch. You may pay a little more for your meal, but the food is delicious and their service is excellent.

The Sea Ranch is located near the south end of the island.

Gabriella’s Italian Grill & Pizzeria

Some nights we just feel like some good Italian… that’s where Gabriella’s Italian Grill & Pizzeria comes in.

A good place to start, is with antipasti (starters), and here I love the Sherry mushrooms. They also have salads, several brick oven pizzas (try the Buffalo Chicken pizza), calzones, pasta, and much more.

If you’re in South Padre and you feel like some good Italian, Gabriella’s is the place to go.

These are some of the really good restaurants in South Padre, but there are of course several others as well. No matter how you look at it, you should be able to find a truly satisfying meal.

It’s been a long day day of fun. Now you’re hungry and looking for some New Braunfels TX restaurants that can soothe your hunger.

Don’t despair, you won’t go hungry, and you don’t have to resort to a fast-food joint… unless you want to, of course.

There are several very good restaurants in New Braunfels. Some of them are quite unique too.

Here are a few of our favorite… 

New Braunfels TX Restaurants

Oma’s Haus

New Braunfels has a strong German heritage and you want to be sure you don’t miss out on that. For this reason, you must visit Oma’s Haus.

Oma’s Haus has a variety of traditional German meals, including Wiener Schnitzel, Pork Schnitzel, Sausage & Sauerkraut, and more. My favorite is the Chicken Schnitzel.

If you’re not in the mood for German food, they also have several American meals, like Chicken Fried Steak, Tilapia, and sandwiches.

Alpine Haus Restaurant

The Alpine Haus restaurant is another excellent German restaurant in New Braunfels. They specialize in Bavarian-style cooking, and the owner is also the head chef.

The Alpine Haus also makes a variety of different schnitzels, sandwiches, sausage dishes, and of course, wonderful German dessert.

The Alpine Haus is slightly more expensive, with most lunch items around $10 and dinner items around $20, but it is well worth it.

I recommend that you make reservations because seating is limited at the Alpine Haus.

Clear Springs Cafe

The Clear Springs Cafe is located a short drive outside New Braunfels. It has been around for a long time!

The Clear Springs Cafe serves traditional Texas foods, like fried pickles, fried catfish, fried shrimp, chicken strips, chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, burgers, and delicious desserts, like homemade peach cobbler.

If you visit the Clear Springs Cafe, go early. The place fills up pretty fast!

Gristmill Restaurant

The Gristmill Restaurant is another favorite New Braunfels restaurant.

The Gristmill has an amazing range of appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, entrees, and desserts.

The spinach artichoke dip is very good, and so is the pepper filet! Also, don’t miss the apple crumb pie!

You’re in Galveston for a day or three and you’re likely to have a great time there. Afterall, there is the beach, Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn, and more to do in Galveston.

So it would be nice to top off your vacation with some good food!

Here are 5 Galveston restaurants that offer scrumptious meals… 

Cafe Michael Burger

Cafe Michael Burger is right on the beachfront, so you get to enjoy your meal while also enjoying the scenic view.

They offer a variety of burgers and other sandwiches, as well as a handful of German meals, including one of my favorites, the Wienerschnitzel.

The burgers and sandwiches are typically under $10 and the German meals are just a little over $10.

ShyKatZ Deli

The ShyKatZ Deli is a great place to go for breakfast, in particular!

Their many breakfast options are all $10 or less, and are absolutely delicious.

They also have a wide variety of excellent hot and cold sandwiches and wraps, as well as burgers, all for $10 or less.

Their Philly Cheesesteak sandwich is amazing! Give them a try!

Mosquito Cafe

The Mosquito Cafe is another great Galveston restaurant.

They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They are also very good at it. (The Mosquito Cafe has a few awards to prove it!)

They have some interesting appetizers, like warm goat cheese medallions. The Thai chicken salad is great too.

The Mosquito Cafe’s motto is, “one bite is all it takes”, and that is probably quite true!

Saltwater Grill

The Saltwater Grill is a little more expensive than the Galveston restaurants mentioned above, but it is nevertheless an excellent restaurant.

Their steaks are very good. So is the gumbo. The service is excellent too.

The Saltwater Grill can get very busy on weekends due to its popularity, so keep that in mind.

Mario’s Seawall Italian Restaurant

The fifth restaurant on our list of good Galveston restaurants is Mario’s Seawall Italian Restaurant.

Mario’s makes excellent pizza. This isn’t your typical pizza-joint pizza, but proper wood-fired oven pizza.

They also make some great calzones, a variety of subs, and a range of tasty pastas for dinner. Their desserts include old-time favorites, like tiramisu, chocolate-covered cannoli, and key-lime pie.

Bandera Texas is called The Cowboy Capital of the World… and for a very good reason! It looks like a cowboy town!

Not a fake cowboy town with people wandering the streets wearing cowboy costumes…. No, Bandera Texas is the real deal!

Here you will see ranchers coming town, wearing jeans, boots and worn-out spurs. You’ll see horses tied up at a restaurant or bar, patiently waiting for their riders to finish their business inside. You’ll see store fronts that still look like a store from the old cowboy era.

Things To Do In Bandera Texas

Dude Ranches

Since we’re talking about cowboys, a dude ranch is a good place to do something fun. Here you can get a real ranch experience that includes roping, horseback riding, and interacting with other animals like goats or donkeys.

The good dude ranches also have a pool to help you stay cool in the summer.

My favorite dude ranch is the Silver Spur Guest Ranch, but there are others too, like the Dixie Dude Ranch, Rancho Cortez, the Flying L Guest Ranch, Mayan Ranch, and the Running R Guest Ranch.

Hill Country State Natural Area

The Hill Country State Natural Area is about 10 miles southwest of Bandera, basically next door to the Silver Spur Guest Ranch.

It is a very beautiful and undeveloped area of the Hill Country. There is plenty to do, including hiking one of the many trails and horseback riding.

Remember to take your own water along!

Frontier Times Museum

The Frontier Times Museum contains many artifacts reflecting Bandera’s history and cowboy heritage. It is well worth a visit!

Cowboy Bars in Bandera Texas

The last time that we were in Bandera, we spent some time at the 11th Street Cowboy Bar. This place is something special. They have live music on Wednesdays and on the weekend.

Although the bar is popular with bikers, it is not uncommon to see a couple of horses tied up in front of the bar while their owners enjoy a refreshment inside!

Another nice bar that has live music, is Arkey Blue’s Silver Dollar.

The Chikin Coop is another bar / restaurant that I like. More about them below…

Tubing on the Medina River

When the Medina river is high enough, it is great fun to rent a tube and float down the river. This is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

The Bandera River Yacht Club rents tubes, kayaks, and even paddle boats.

Places To Stay in Bandera

A decent place to stay in Bandera is the River Front Motel. They have individual cabins that are nicely furnished. The River Front Motel is within walking distance of several popular bars and restaurants in Bandera, which is very convenient.

The dude ranches also offer accommodation, so check them out as well. They might cost you more, but they give a unique “cowboy ranch” experience!

If you are into camping or have a RV, try the Cowboy Capital RV park. The owner is a real friendly guy.

Places To Eat in Bandera

Our first meal in Bandera was at the Chikin Coop, a bar / restaurant on Main street. They serve burgers, sandwiches, salads, and have a full bar. They also have band and dancing at the Chikin Coop on the weekends.

If you like a really good cup of coffee, go to the Dogleg Coffeehouse, also on Main street. Not only do they make great coffee, but also have a nice variety of excellent pastries and scones.

Another great restaurant in Bandera Texas to try is O.S.T. Restaurant, also on Main street. They make some excellent chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken, both traditional Texas meals. Their Mexican food is very good too.

If you will be spending some time in the San Antonio area, be sure to spend a day or two in Bandera as well. It will give you a genuine and unique experience of “cowboy” that you won’t find in too many places!

Looking for some Port Aransas restaurants?

After a long day on the beach or doing some other fun activity, you’re likely to be hungry and looking for a good meal.

It may be a small town, but there are nevertheless several good restaurants in Port Aransas to choose from.

Here are 5 of our favorite Port Aransas restaurants… 

Port A Pizzeria

I think the Port A Pizzeria is a great family restaurant. We ate there several times during our last Port Aransas vacation.

They have a really good pizza buffet that is very reasonably priced. The variety of pizza is decent too. They also have a nice salad bar.

Definitely give the Port A Pizzeria a try. Next time we go to Port A, we’ll be eating there again.

Venetian Hot Plate

The Venetian Hot Plate is a great Italian restaurant in Port Aransas.

They have a good variety of Italian dishes, generally in the $10-$20 range. I like their spaghetti alla pescatora.

It is quite popular, so if you’re in Port Aransas during peak summer season, you may want to make reservations. They are only open for dinner.

The Venetian Hot Plate is probably not really suited to families with kids, but it is good for a romantic evening.

Cancun Grill & Cantina

The Cancun Grill & Cantina is a great family restaurant where you can get good Mexican food at a good price.

They make really good enchiladas and I also like their shrimp dishes. Their frozen margaritas are very good too. They do breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and you can also get take-out from them.

If you’re in the mood for Mexican food, give the Cancun Grill a try.

Island Cafe and Smokehouse

The Island Cafe and Smokehouse is a great family restaurant that is reasonably-priced.

They serve seafood and other old Texas favorites, like the chicken fried steak that I like a lot. My kids like the shrimp.

Their breakfasts, in particular, are very popular and the Island Cafe can be busy during that time. Over weekends you may have to wait for a table, but it is worth the wait!

Avery’s Kitchen

Another of our favorite Port Aransas restaurants is Avery’s Kitchen, which is a very reasonably-priced seafood restaurant that is great for families with kids.

They have a variety of seafood dishes… enough for everyone to find something they like, and the food is really good. Their service is also excellent! An added bonus is that they are currently BYOB, so you get to save a bit on the cost of beer or wine. (I guess this may change, so call to confirm before going.)

Avery’s serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Try them. I think you’ll like it!

These restaurants are only our favorites. There are several other good restaurants in Port Aransas that I have heard of if you want to look at a few others. I’m hoping to try some of them the next time we go to Port Aransas.

If you are looking for Houston restaurants to eat at during your Houston vacation, there are plenty of choices to look at…

Not all restaurants are equally good though, and the last thing you want to do is end up in a dump!

I have had a look at several restaurants in Houston that are worth eating at, and while there are many good ones, I think the list of restaurants below are very good.

Here are our favorite Houston restaurants… 

Pappas Bros. Steakhouse

Want an absolutely delicious steak, cooked just the way you like it, and don’t mind paying a bit more to get it? Look no further than Pappas Bros. Steakhouse!

Being a steakhouse, their menu is focused on steaks, excellent steaks, but they also have a small amount of seafood items.

The setting at Pappas Bros. is really nice (read “fancy”).

Although they also have a kids’ menu, when my kids were still small, I preferred to go there when my wife and I wanted to enjoy a decent steak on that rare “evening out”.

Pappas Burger

If you’re in the Pappas Bros. Steakhouse area with the kids and would prefer some good burgers, Pappas Burger is right there!

They make really good hamburgers and they have a decent variety of burgers to choose from. My favorite is the Bleu Cheeseburger!

They also serve a bunch of other tasty food, like various sandwiches, ribs, seafood, and chicken wings, and my youngest son’s favorite… root beer floats!

At times, Pappas can be crowded. If you want to go for dinner, either go just before 6pm or around 8pm to avoid the rush.

Niko Niko’s Greek

In the mood for some excellent Greek food? Then you have to go to Niko Niko’s Greek!

The first time I ever ate tzatziki was on the Greek island, Corfu, many years ago. I loved it… it was great! And so is the tzatziki at Niko Niko’s!

There’s much more than tzatziki though…

They have several excellent sandwiches, of which the Gyros sandwich is my favorite. My spouse likes the Saganaki shrimp, and the kids love the feta cheese pizza. The have some great desserts as well.

Like Pappas Burger, Niko Niko’s can also be crowded at times, but it is well worth the wait!

Star Pizza

If pizza is on the menu for the day and you don’t want the run-of-the-mill varieties, go to Star Pizza!

They have several wonderful specialty pizzas on the menu, of which I really like Joe’s. If you want to make your own pizza, they have a huge amount of toppings available to make just about any pizza imaginable.

If you’re not in the mood for pizza, they also have several pasta dishes and salads available.

They also have a fantastic lunch buffet.

Give Star Pizza a shot if you’re a pizza fan. You’ll love it!

Baba Yega Restaurant

Quite close to Niko Niko’s Greek, is Baba Yega Restaurant, which is a nice restaurant with a good atmosphere, and that serves excellent food at a great price!

Among the appetizers, a family favorite for us is the artichoke & spinach dip.

They have an array of salads, sandwiches (I like the smoked turkey & brie), vegetarian dishes, and a handful of tasty entrees.

All of these are quite reasonably priced.

The atmosphere at Baba Yega is very nice too. Give a it a try!

Ninfa’s on Navigation

Ninfa’s on Navigation has been around for a long time, serving excellent Mexican food all along.

My favorite Mexican dish is enchaladas, and Ninfa’s enchaladas are very good. They also have a pumpkin soup that is magnificent. My wife likes their chimichanga a lot. Their fajitas are excellent as well.

In my mind, this is some of the best Mexican food that you will eat in Houston!

(You should know that there are a few other Houston restaurants named “Ninfa’s”. The restaurant I’m referring to, is specifically named “Ninfa’s on Navigation”.)

Other Houston Restaurants?

The restaurants above are some of our favorites, but they are only a handful out of hundreds of Houston Texas restaurants, so if you would like to consider other options too, here are several more good restaurants in Houston to look at.

When visiting El Paso, you are likely to get hungry and look for El Paso restaurants.

Here is a guide to a few good restaurants in El Paso, TX.

Considering that El Paso is in West Texas and located right on the Mexican border, you can expect at least two types of restaurants… Steakhouses and Mexican restaurants!

I will however show you some other options too. 

Cattle Baron Steak & Seafood

If you’re going to be in El Paso, you need to have at least one meal at the Cattle Baron Steak & Seafood. I don’t think you will be sorry!

They are a steakhouse, so expect to find some real good steaks there. The ribeye is very good. But steak isn’t all they do there. They have a variety of interesting appetizers, good soup, several different hamburgers, pork and chicken dishes, and seafood.

With a variety of food like that, I’m sure everyone in the family will find something they like at the Cattle Baron.

Kiki’s Restaurant & Bar

For Mexican food, Kiki’s Restaurant & Bar is a great choice.

Their food is excellent, they have a great variety, and their service is really good too. One of my favorites are enchiladas. They also have daily lunch or dinner Specials at great prices!

Kiki’s is great for families with children, and for either lunch or dinner.

Kiki’s is located fairly close to the Wyler Aerial Tramway if you wanted to stop off for a meal to or from the tramway.

Healthy Bite

Healthy Bite, in downtown El Paso, offers great light, healthy meals. They serve breakfast items, salads, sandwiches, and paninis.

Everything is freshly-prepared while you wait. The owner is also very friendly!

The only slight drawback is that the Healthy Bite is quite small, so be prepared take your food to eat elsewhere. The food itself more than makes up for this though. Give them a try if you want a light, tasty meal.

State Line Restaurant

The County Line BBQ restaurants are very popular in Texas. In El Paso, it is called State Line Restaurant. (I’m guessing that has something to do with it being right on the border with New Mexico.)

Like its counterparts elsewhere in Texas, the State Line restaurant serves excellent BBQ and is also very popular. They have a variety of BBQ platters, steak, and sandwiches to choose from.

If you decide to spend a day at Wet ‘n’ Wild Waterworld, State Line restaurant is on your way there.

Italian Kitchen

As the name suggests, the Italian Kitchen is a fine Italian restaurant in El Paso. The restaurant is in an old house, so going there feels a bit like going to eat in an Italian family’s home.

The Italian Kitchen has a nice variety of Italian dishes, like Chicken Cacciatore or Cutlet Paramagiana (yummy!) and, yes, pizza. Full portions can be quite big, so they have half-portions available for many dishes.

Their service is very good too. If you’re in the mood for Italian food, I think you’ll have a good time here.

Other El Paso Restaurants?

These are only a handful of all the restaurants in El Paso. If you want to look at other choices, here are a few more restaurants in El Paso to consider.

With so many Dallas restaurants to choose from, how do you know which restaurants give good food at a good price?

When we travel with our kids, I know we’re going to be spending money on hotels and attractions, so it helps a lot to avoid super-fancy restaurants because I’d rather eat a little cheaper and spend more on fun.

Besides, most kids are happy with a good hamburger.

At times though, it is of course very nice if mom & dad can have a decent steak or pasta, etc.

So I try to pick Dallas restaurants that give good food, but won’t break the bank.

Here are a few of our favorites… 

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen is a great place to go eat lunch or dinner. It is, as the name says, a seafood restaurant, but they also have steak and chicken. They have a wide variety of seafood, including Louisiana fare, like gumbo and Cajun dishes.

Pappadeaux have a nice kids’ menu with all items under $10 and a wide-enough selection to keep most kids happy. They also have a “To-go” menu if you prefer to eat at the hotel. We sometimes do that after a long day out.

The atmosphere at Pappadeaux is very nice, and their service is very good too.

Babe’s Chicken Dinner House

Babe’s Chicken Dinner House is a country-style chicken restaurant that serves simple, but very good food. I like chicken fried steak, so I like Babe’s!

Other than chicken fried steak, they also serve things like fried chicken tenders, pot roast, and on the dessert-side, one of my favorites, lemon meringue pie. My wife likes the coconut meringue pie, and most kids love banana pudding!

Babe’s is open for lunch and dinner. It is located fairly close to the La Qunita Inn in Addison and might be a good option after a day at the Hawaiian Falls waterpark in The Colony.

Casa Milagro

Casa Milagro in Richardson is another favorite among Dallas area restaurants. It is a great Mexican restaurant and you will be full when you walk out of there!

They have the usual range of Mexican dishes on their menu, including a few that I had not heard of before. One of my favorites are their sour cream chicken enchiladas, called Lupita. If you haven’t had it before, try their Sopapillas for dessert. We love it!

With Casa Milagro being in Richardson, it would be good to go there on a day that you plan to visit Southfork Ranch or Hawaiian Falls in Garland.

Patrizio

Patrizio is a great Italian restaurant in Highland Park Village, north of downtown Dallas.

They have a wonderful variety of Italian dishes, including various pasta dishes and pizza. There’s this dish called Conchiglie Con Spinaci that is amazing! Amongst their desserts, Tiramisu is my favorite, but I’m told that their apple pie is very good too.

Since Patrizio is just north of downtown Dallas, it’s easy to get to if you’re staying in downtown Dallas or visiting the downtown attractions.

Twisted Root Burger Co.

The Twisted Root Burger Co. is a cool burger joint to take the kids to.

Here you can get regular beef burgers, but they also have other interesting options, like boar, venison, ostrich, emu, and more. They also have a wide range of toppings, like goat cheese, blue cheese, chipotle ranch, guacamole, and more. And of course they have fries.

I think the Twisted Root is definitely worth visiting!

The restaurants above are some of our favorites, but they are only a handful out of more than 1000 Dallas restaurants, so if you would like to consider other options too, here are a few more good restaurants in Dallas to look at.

There are so many Austin Texas hotels to choose from that it could sometimes become a mission finding the right one.

I have discovered a few hotels in Austin that are definitely worth considering…

When looking for hotels for my family, I look for hotels that will work well for kids. A pool is a handy feature, and if it has more than a pool to keep the kids happy, even better!

It is also very helpful if the hotel is close to attractions or at least offers easy access to main roads.

Here are my favorite… 

Austin Texas Hotels

Staybridge Suites Austin Arboretum

The Staybridge Suites Austin Arboretum is a favorite among Austin Texas hotels with an outdoor pool, a tennis court, basketball court, and an indoor exercise room.

The rooms (suites, I should say) are spacious and nicely decorated. Each room has a kitchenette, which is very handy to make a quick snack for hungry kids! The hotel also has a guest laundromat available.

The Staybridge Suites is located near restaurants and other shopping in North Austin, which is very convenient.

Embassy Suites Hotel Austin Arboretum

The Embassy Suites Hotel Austin Arboretum is a very nice hotel also in Austin’s Arboretum area. It has an indoor pool, a spa tub, and a fitness center. There are two swans in the lobby area that the kids are sure to enjoy!

The room are beautifully decorated, and clean and comfortable.

The Embassy Suites offers complimentary transportation to the shopping and restaurant areas in the immediate vicinity.

Austin Airport Marriott South

The Austin Airport Marriott South is a fine hotel located south of downtown Austin near the Ben White Blvd/I-35 intersection. The location might not be the prettiest, but it offers easy access to highways to get around Austin.

The hotel has an indoor pool, a whirlpool, and a fitness center. There is an on-site restaurant that serves American cuisine, and a bar that serves cocktails, beer, and light food.

The rooms are beautiful and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Hampton Inn & Suites Austin Downtown

If you want to stay in Downtown Austin, the Hampton Inn & Suites Austin Downtown is a hotel to consider. It has an outdoor pool and a fitness room. The hotel is very nicely decorated. The rooms are also beautiful, clean, and comfortable.

The hotel is located only 3 blocks from 6th Street’s bars and restaurants. Lady Bird Lake (the new name for Town Lake) Hike & Bike trail is close too. So is the Congress Ave. bridge where the famous bats can be seen from March to early November.

Given how expensive downtown hotels can be, you can probably find a very reasonable deal at this one!

Habitat Suites Hotel

The Habitat Suites Hotel is a “green” hotel. This means they use natural, nontoxic cleaners in and around the hotel, and they use ozonators and ionizers to ensure clean air in rooms. Quite something, isn’t it?

The hotel has a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere. The suites a spacious and comfortable. Each is equipped with a kitchen. The hotel also has a nice outdoor pool.

The Habitat Suites is located a few miles north of downtown Austin, next to the Highland Mall. I think this is truly one of the unique Austin Texas hotels!

Courtyard Austin Airport

The Courtyard Austin Airport, a smoke-free hotel, is located near Austin Bergstrom airport on Ben White Blvd. It is a nice, family-friendly hotel, with an indoor pool and laundry facilities.

The rooms are comfortable and clean, and rollaway beds are available if you need one. The hotel staff are also friendly and helpful.

I think these hotels in Austin would all be good choices for a stay in Austin. They are all reasonably priced and all have pools to help keep the kids happy.
