Why would there be fun things to do in Galveston Texas? Well, it’s an island in the Gulf of Mexico, and that spells FUN!
Galveston has nice beaches, a theme park, a water park, a museum, a nice shopping area, several restaurants, and plenty of hotels.
I like it that most of the fun things to do in Galveston Texas are also located close to one another.
That means you don’t have to do endless driving to get from one thing to another.
Dallas is a big city, and to some it may seem difficult to find fun things to do in Dallas Texas… but they’re out there!
We have been there a few times and I want to tell you about the things to do in Dallas Texas that we have discovered! These include some fun attractions, like the Dallas Zoo, Southfork, the Dallas Aquarium, and more.
If you are planning a Dallas vacation, you will also need a few places to eat at, and a place to stay in, so I will tell you about a few great restaurants to try and few hotels to consider (including downtown hotels and Bed & Breakfasts).
Before I continue, when I say “Dallas”, I do mean the Dallas area and that will include other cities too. Now on too…

Is Corpus Christi a boring place with nothing to do, or could you have a good time there?
The good news is that there are plenty of fun things to do in Corpus Christi and the surrounding area. We have been there a few times, and had a great time every time!
An added bonus with Corpus Christi is that it is fairly close to Port Aransas… you could pick a day to go there as well.

RV travel in Texas can be a lot of fun if you know where to find the good Texas RV campgrounds!
RV travel is definitely not for eveyone. You’re much closer to nature than you would be in a hotel.
Unless you have an expensive RV, you will also be sharing bathroom facilities with other people.
Do those things bother you? They sure don’t bother us!
We like campfires in the evenings… the kids particularly like making s’mores. We like hearing the birds in the trees… and going on hikes! And we don’t mind sharing bathroom facilities.
So we usually have a great time!
Without a doubt, South Padre Island Texas is one of our FAVORITE vacation destinations!
My family and I discovered this little tropical paradise a couple of summers ago. We have been hooked ever since!
Some of our favorite things to do in South Padre Island are the beaches, a visit to Schlitterbahn, and fishing.
If you’re wondering where South Padre Island is, follow the Texas coastline towards Mexico. It is a couple of miles off the coast just about on the border with Mexico. A bridge connects South Padre Island to Port Isabel on the mainland.
South Padre Island hotels are plentiful… Some are more expensive, some are cheaper, some are on the beach, and some are not.
And then there are condos too!
The point is, there are many options to choose from. Not all of them are equally good though.

Do you want to have some serious fun? Check out Six Flags Over Texas! It is a theme park in Arlington, TX (about mid-way between Dallas and Fort Worth). This place will rock your world!
Six Flags Over Texas has more than 40 rides to choose from… that’s right, 40 rides!
The rides range from something as mild as the “Bugs Bunny Spirit of St Louie”, which is great for little kids, all the way to the new “Texas Giant” that will blow your socks off!
I know that Six Flags San Antonio (a.k.a Fiesta Texas) is a blast! I know because every summer my kids nag me, “C’mon Dad, let’s go to Six Flags”… again… and again… and again.
If you don’t know what Six Flags San Antonio is, it is a really cool amusement park with many roller coasters and water rides of varying thrill-levels, a nice wave pool, and several other fun things… all-in-all, a kids’ paradise!
I don’t mind going at all. Yes, it can be somewhat costly, and it can be a tiring day, but we all have so much fun that it is certainly worth it.
SeaWorld San Antonio has a great variety of different activities ranging from their famous animal shows and exhibits to water rides and roller coasters.
If you’re hot, you can cool off in the wave pool or do some water rides.
If you want a little action, the rollercoasters will give it to you.
If you’re getting tired and want to sit down for a while, an animal show will keep you entertained.
All of this makes SeaWorld one of our FAVORITE San Antonio family attractions!
My family and I like to stay in one of the San Antonio Riverwalk hotels when we go to the Riverwalk. To me it seems pointless to stay “out there somewhere” and miss out on the Riverwalk-buzz in the evenings.
Fortunately the hotel owners have also figured out that people would want to sleep in or very near to the Riverwalk. There are now several San Antonio Riverwalk hotels to choose from.
I choose our hotel to stay in based on what the purpose of our trip is, and whether the kids go along or not.
If it is only my wife and I, I like to pick a more romantic hotel that has a balcony with a view over the Riverwalk. If we take the kids along, I’ll pick a hotel that works better for my whole family.
